New York Fashion & Design Program - NYDP

China is fast becoming one of the top markets for fashion and luxury industries and expected to replace Japan as the world’s top consumer of luxury goods in 2012. As the luxury markets in China expand, demand for fashion consultants, fashion designers, merchandising executives, illustrators, stylists, and fashion coordinators is on the rise. Seizing this opportunity, we are launching a short-term study abroad program designed to bring you a closer look at the fashion industry in the US. Our New York Fashion & Design Program (NYDP) offers creative opportunity to expose students to a wide range of fashion and design seminars, visits, and hand-on experiences that will enable them to understand the methodology and technology behind fashion design. This two-week intensive program is open to anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge of art and design in an academically rigorous and artistically stimulating environment.
Students spend four days in a fashion camp and receive demanding homework assignments. After the completion of the fashion camp, special events will be arranged for the following week, including industry guest lecturers, field trips to fashion houses, panel discussions with industry professionals, all designed to prepare students for admission to design school or direct them toward relevant career paths.

Exploring New York

Activities are scheduled outside of classes that provide opportunities for students to become acquainted with each another and learn their way around New York City. Students are encouraged to take full advantage of the vast artistic and industrial resources of New York, home to some of the world's most important museums, galleries, design studios, libraries, and design-related businesses.

Deadline: Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are accepted in the order in which they are received. Class sizes are limited. We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible to ensure sufficient time for visa processing and international travel arrangements.
